![]() ![]() ![]() This is a great book to model a challenging emotion, especially since it provides a realistic picture of the damage done. The story portrays her working through her unpleasant emotions, experiencing justly earned guilt, talking with her dad about it, and patching things up with her friend the next day. Everyone praises her friend's artwork, while no one notices hers, and she gives into her bad feelings and is unkind to her friend. In this story, a girl feels jealous about her school friend getting more attention than she does. When I was a small child, jealousy was one of my besetting sins, and I feel bad for the amount of time that my mom had to spend talking me through my frequently irrational jealousy, which mainly had to do with things my older sister got to do that I didn't. This picture book instantly appealed to me because of the title and cover. ![]()
